September 23-27

Math: We will learn to estimate if sums are more or less than 100. We will be learning a new game to help us practice that new skill.

Spelling: Our spelling words this week all have vowel diphthongs.

Language Arts: We will be learning about author's purpose and compound sentences. We will be reviewing sequencing, prefixes, and suffixes.
Our vocabulary words this week are: dangerously, errands, unwrapped, wobbled, excitedly, arranged, steady, and bundles.

Reading: Our story of the week is My Rows and Piles of Coins.

Writing: We will be learning to write a realistic fiction story.

Social Studies: We will continue to learn about communities. We will learn about why people move to and from communities. We will also be learning about the struggles of Native Americans when settlers first arrived.

Handwriting: We will learn lowercase cursive a.
