Last Week in School...

Here, the students are working in pairs to complete a worksheet about contractions.

We love singing and dancing along to our Grammar Jammer about verbs.

The character trait of the month was compassion. Logan was chosen as the student in our class who always shows compassion. Kadence and Brooklyn's papers were also chosen to be read in front of the entire school. They both wrote about someone who always shows them compassion.

In math, we used our thousands charts to help solve math problems.

We also had time to play some fun math games. We played Close to 100 and Go Collecting. Some parents even came to learn some of our games on Math Night.

We finished our Junior Achievement program. Mrs. Kappes and Mrs. Martyn gave each student a water bottle, candy, and a dollar coin on their last day. We got very lucky to get such great volunteers in our room!

In science, we read about life cycles in groups.

We wrote fictional stories by finishing the prompt, "My mom was making a turkey. I walked in the kitchen just as she opened the oven and..." The kids came up with some very creative stories.

We also made turkey crafts and wrote what we are thankful for on each feather. Our turkeys are "Stuffed with Thankful Thoughts!"

In sign language, we played Go Fish with newly learned Thanksgiving words.

Miss Goetz will be completing her Junior Field experience in our classroom. She will be with us until December 11.
