May 9-13

Math: We will finish learning about fractions.

Spelling: Our spelling words all have /oo/ sounds.

Language Arts: We will learn about facts and opinions. We will also review authors' purpose. We will also learn about capitalization. Our vocabulary words this week are: liberty, symbol, torch, unveiled, crown, models, tablet, and unforgettable. Reading: Our story of the week is The Story of the Statue of Liberty.

Writing: We will finish a spring writing project about making wishes.

Handwriting: We will review all capital letters.

Social Studies: We will be learning about the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

We will be going to Storybook Land Wednesday afternoon.

Track and Field Day will be held on Friday. (Volunteers are still needed!)

May 2-6

Math: We will work on solving growing pattern problems be using a fictional story about magic marbles. We will review area, perimeter, multiplication, and division.

Spelling: Our spelling words this week all have suffixes.
