February 2-6

Math: We will be learning how to relate area and multiplication. We will work with various numbers to create possible arrangements of dimensions. For example: 12=3x4, 4x3, 6x2, 2x6, 1x12, 12x1. We will then introduce arrays and learn a math game with them.

Spelling: Our spelling words this week are have prefixes.
prepaid        midnight      overflow     outdoors     outline
overgrown    prefix         Midwest      pretest        midpoint
outgoing       overtime     overdue       outside        outfield
precaution    prediction   midsection   overweight  prehistoric

Language Arts: We will learn about facts and opinions. We will also learn how to find cause and effects in stories we read. We will also learn about possessive pronouns. Our vocabulary words this week are: customer, chores, board, attic, stamps, spare, and labeled. Reading: Our story of the week is Rocks in his Head.

Writing: We will finish writing our autobiographies.

Social Studies: We will learn about map components.

Science: We will learn about the water cycle.

Handwriting: We will learn uppercase cursive O and H.
