October 28-November 1

It is Red Ribbon Week! Remember to dress up each day. Monday-wear red; Tuesday-wear sweats; Wednesday-wear neon; Thursday-wear black and orange; Friday-wear a jersey

Math: We will make double bar graphs to compare the data we collected last week. We will also begin learning about line plots and pictographs.

Spelling: Our spelling words this week all begin with a consonant blend.

Language Arts: We will be learning about author's purpose. We will also learn about singular possessive nouns and antonyms. We will review how to compare and contrast details from stories we read.

Our vocabulary words this week are: lazy, crops, cheated, wealth, bottom, clever, and partners.

Reading: Our story of the week is Tops and Bottoms.

Handwriting: We will learn the lowercase cursive x and g.

We have our second character assembly on Tuesday. Watch to find out which classmate won the award for always showing perseverance.

On Thursday afternoon, we will have a fall festival party. We will play a few games and have treats.

Last Week in School...

In math, we conducted surveys of other classes and categorized the data in a chart. Next, we will make double bar graphs to compare the data.










Mrs. Aman read us a Halloween story.

We wrote fictional stories called "My Pet Monster." Here they are working on the final draft of their stories.


Here they are creating their monsters.


 Here are the finished products. They turned out GREAT!!












To get into the Halloween spirit, we went on a Halloween noun hunt. Here they are working with a small group to list as many Halloween people, places, things, and animals as they can.



In Sign Language this week, we learned how to sign many popular Halloween words. We will use these new signs to play a Bingo game on Halloween next week.

October 21-25

Math: We will be learning to collect and graph data. We will also learn how to make double bar graphs.

Language Arts: We will be learning how to draw conclusions about what we read. We will also learn about irregular plural nouns and onomatopoeia. We will review finding the main idea in stories we read.

Last Week in School...

We worked with groups and collected data from our class and sorted the results into categories. Then we made our own bar graphs about the data we collected.





 In science, we conducted 3 experiments. Here, some of the kids are observing the white petals of our flowers changing colors because we added food coloring to the water.


We had indoor recess this week. We have a lot of fun playing games and building with blocks, but we have to most fun when we play Just Dance.

























We learned how to sign school supplies in sign language class this week.
